Thiago Alcantara Barcelona Hoodie | Players Couture

Thiago Alcântara came through the Barcelona academy and made his first-team debut under Pep Guardiola, winning La Liga and contributing to a squad that contained Xavi, Iniesta and Messi — and still establishing himself as a player of sufficient quality to be considered worthy of significant first-team involvement. His technical foundation, built on the Barcelona system from youth level, gave him the precise, efficient style of play that defined the best midfielders to emerge from that environment.

Thiago's Barcelona years were the formation of a player who would later achieve his finest individual performances at Bayern Munich and then Liverpool. His association with the tiki-taka principles that made Barcelona the most studied club side in the world at that time gave him a playing philosophy that he carried through his entire career — a belief that possession, technical quality and positional intelligence were the foundations of good football, regardless of the system or the team around him.
