From Cleveland Heights to Kansas City
Kelce grew up in Ohio, played at Cleveland Heights High School and went on to the University of Cincinnati. The Chiefs picked him in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, 63rd overall. After a quiet rookie year he broke out in 2014 with 862 yards, and by 2016 he was a first-team All-Pro with the first of seven straight 1,000-yard seasons.

Mahomes, Kelce and the Dynasty
When Patrick Mahomes took over at quarterback in 2018, Kelce caught 103 passes for 1,336 yards. In 2020 he set the NFL record for receiving yards by a tight end in a season, 1,416. Most importantly, the Chiefs won Super Bowl LIV in February 2020, their first title in 50 years.

Back-to-Back and Record Breaker
Kansas City won Super Bowl LVII and then Super Bowl LVIII, beating San Francisco 25–22 in overtime, to become back-to-back champions. Along the way Kelce passed Jerry Rice for the most postseason receptions in NFL history and set the record for career Super Bowl catches. After a fifth Super Bowl appearance, a defeat by Philadelphia in LIX, he kept going, and in 2026 he has already moved to No. 2 on the all-time tight end receiving yards list.
