The story behind the name
Hamza Abdelkarim was born in Cairo in 2008 and joined Al Ahly's academy in 2020. Barcelona initially brought the forward to Catalonia on loan in 2026, then exercised their option to sign him permanently after his progress through the youth setup. Four pre-season goals preceded a competitive first-team debut against Rayo Vallecano, while his performances also earned senior international recognition with Egypt.
