Harry Kewell built a brilliant career as a skilful left winger, attacking midfielder and forward. He made his name at Leeds United, where he became one of the Premier League’s most exciting young players and won the PFA Young Player of the Year award. His pace, creativity, balance and ability to beat defenders made him a favourite at Elland Road during a memorable Leeds era.

Kewell later joined Liverpool, where he was part of the squad that won the European club football in 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006. He also represented Galatasaray in Turkey, Melbourne Victory, Al-Gharafa and Melbourne Heart before retiring as a player. Across his club career, he became known as one of Australia’s finest football exports and a player who could light up matches with flair, movement and technical quality.

For Australia, Kewell earned 58 senior caps and scored 17 goals. He played a key role in the Socceroos’ famous qualification for the 2006 World Cup, scoring in the penalty shootout against Uruguay. At the tournament itself, his goal against Croatia helped Australia reach the knockout stage, creating one of the biggest moments in Australian football history. He also featured at the 2010 World Cup and represented his country across major international competitions including the Confederations Cup, OFC Nations Cup and AFC Asian Cup.
