In Pro Evolution Soccer's classic-player database, licensing restrictions gave Diego Simeone the cult alias A.Pahissa. For players who spent hours editing squads or selecting the World and European Classics, that fictional name became part of the game's mythology. Behind it was Diego Simeone: As a combative midfielder, Simeone won the 1995/96 Spanish double with Atlético, the UEFA Cup with Inter and a Serie A title with Lazio, while earning more than 100 Argentina caps. As Atlético's manager he built one of Europe's defining teams, winning La Liga and Europa League honours through organisation and collective belief.
Why the two names? The chest print uses A.Pahissa, the fictional classic-player name remembered from PES, while the footballer behind the avatar is Diego Simeone. It is a small piece of gaming history for supporters who knew the player before every classic squad was fully licensed.
