Billy Bremner Leeds United Hoodie | Players Couture

Billy Bremner captained Leeds United through their most successful and controversial era — winning two First Division titles, an FA Cup and a Fairs Cup under Don Revie, while also experiencing the heartbreak of defeat in a European Cup final and the near-misses that defined a side that could have won so much more. As a captain, Bremner was everything: combative, technically excellent, and the player the rest of the side looked to when the pressure was highest.

Bremner's Leeds were a team the rest of English football loved to hate — hard, organised, intensely competitive and usually very good. Bremner was the engine and the heart of it all. His midfield partnership with Johnny Giles was among the finest in the English game, their ability to control matches through possession and physicality setting a template that influenced how clubs across the country approached midfield construction. Scotland had no better player during his era.
