Erling Haaland Manchester City Kids Hoodie | Players Couture

Erling Haaland scored 36 Premier League goals in his debut season at Manchester City in 2022-23 — a record that had stood since Jimmy Greaves scored 41 in all competitions in 1960-61. The overall record of 52 goals across all competitions in that first campaign, which ended with the Treble, was the most prolific individual season in English football history. The numbers were so far beyond what had previously been achievable that the existing records had to be recategorised.

Haaland's combination of pace, physical presence, clinical finishing and intelligent movement behind the defensive line gave Pep Guardiola's already formidable system an attacking dimension that no opponent could consistently account for. The Champions League final victory over Inter Milan completed the Treble and confirmed that the most prolific individual season English football had seen was also matched by the ultimate team success. City and Haaland together were, for at least that season, the most formidable combination in European football.
