Later Masters wins came in 1974 and 1978, Open Championship wins in 1968 and 1974, plus a second PGA Championship in 1972.
Gary Player recorded 24 PGA TOUR victories and wins around the world, proving that a golfer based outside the traditional American and British centres of the game could become a genuine global superstar.
