Rivaldo joined Barcelona in 1997 and spent five seasons at the Camp Nou — four La Liga titles and a Copa del Rey, alongside individual performances that won him the Ballon d'Or and the FIFA World Player of the Year in 1999. His left foot, his ability to score from anywhere and his movement between the lines made him one of the most dangerous attackers in Europe across the late 1990s and early 2000s.
For Brazil he was the second star in the 2002 World Cup alongside Ronaldo Nazário — a partnership that carried Brazil through a tournament in which they were imperious, scoring in every game including the final against Germany. 74 Brazil caps, 35 international goals, and a highlight reel that any forward from any era would be proud to claim.
