Tom Brady was born in San Mateo, California, in 1977 and grew up watching Joe Montana lead the San Francisco 49ers. He attended the University of Michigan but had to compete continually for the starting quarterback position.

Brady completed his career with 89,214 regular-season passing yards and 649 touchdown passes. He retired as the leading player in both categories, alongside records for quarterback victories, completions and attempts.
His career included 15 Pro Bowl selections and three regular-season MVP awards. In the postseason, he appeared in ten Super Bowls, won seven and received five MVP awards. No individual player has collected more Super Bowl victories.
