Bruno Guimaraes Newcastle United Kids T-Shirt | Players Couture

Bruno Guimarães arrived at Newcastle United in January 2022 from Lyon and within months had become one of the most important midfielders in the Premier League. His combination of technical quality, physical presence and reading of the game gave Newcastle the kind of central midfield foundation that the club had been searching for throughout their years of underachievement, and his importance to the team was recognised by every top club in Europe.

Guimarães chose to remain at St James' Park when he could have left for Champions League football at several of the Premier League's most ambitious clubs — a decision that spoke of his connection to the fanbase and the project at Newcastle as much as any contractual arrangement. His performances, his relationship with the Gallowgate and his ability to influence matches from deep midfield have made him the most important player at the club since Alan Shearer, and the comparisons are not made lightly on Tyneside.
