Eusébio Benfica Hoodie | Players Couture
Eusébio scored 473 goals for Benfica in 440 appearances across fifteen seasons — one of the most remarkable goal-to-game ratios in the history of any major European league. The Mozambican-born forward arrived at the Estádio da Luz in 1960 and within two years had established himself as one of the most feared strikers on the continent, winning the European Cup in 1962 and finishing as the competition's top scorer in a final that Benfica won 5-3 against Real Madrid.
Eusébio's 1966 World Cup campaign for Portugal remains one of the great individual tournament performances in the competition's history. His nine goals, including four in a quarter-final against North Korea when Portugal came back from 3-0 down, demonstrated a player whose quality could not be legislated for by any defensive system. The Black Panther — as he was known for his pace and predatory instinct — was voted the tournament's best player and the most recognisable face in international football for a significant period of the 1960s and 1970s.
If you're a Benfica fan or looking for a gift for someone who appreciates the history of European football, this Players Couture design captures Eusébio in the red of the Estádio da Luz in the Pantone-card illustration style.
The t-shirt is made from 100% premium cotton with a regular unisex fit, available in White, Navy, Red, Black and Grey in sizes XS to 5XL. Every piece is made to order at our studio in Manchester — nothing is held in stock, so your order is produced fresh just for you.
