Frank de Boer
Frank de Boer built a reputation as one of Europe’s most composed and intelligent defenders. A product of the famed Ajax academy, he enjoyed immense success with Ajax during the 1990s, winning multiple Eredivisie titles and lifting the European club football in 1995 as part of the club’s golden generation.
He later represented Barcelona in La Liga, adding Spanish league honours to his CV, before spells at Galatasaray and Rangers. Internationally, Frank earned over 100 caps for the Netherlands, captaining his country and playing in multiple European Championships and World Cups.
After retiring, he moved into management, coaching Ajax to four consecutive Eredivisie titles and later taking charge of clubs including Inter Milan, Crystal Palace and Atlanta United, as well as managing the Netherlands national team at a major tournament.
Ronald de Boer
Ronald de Boer, equally gifted but operating further forward, was known for his versatility, technique and eye for goal. Like his brother, he rose through Ajax’s academy and was central to their domestic dominance and European club football triumph in the mid-90s.
He joined Barcelona alongside Frank, further cementing their status as one of football’s most recognisable duos. Ronald also played for Rangers in Scotland, contributing to league success, and later had spells in the Middle East before retiring.
For the Netherlands, Ronald earned over 60 international caps, representing his country at European Championships and World Cups, scoring crucial goals and showcasing his trademark intelligence and movement.
