Steve McManaman was one of the most exciting English wingers of the 1990s — a player whose energy and directness lit up Anfield and then the Bernabéu. His name on this hoodie is for the fans who remember when English players could be genuine superstars abroad.

Champions League winner 1999 and 2000 with Real Madrid. 37 England caps. 2x La Liga winner. Goal in the 2000 Champions League final voted goal of the tournament.

Steve McManaman came through the Liverpool academy and spent a decade at Anfield, becoming one of the most creative midfielders in English football — but the true peak of his career came after his controversial free transfer to Real Madrid in 1999. He won two Champions Leagues in three seasons with the Galácticos, scoring the opening goal in the 2000 final against Valencia with a spectacular volley that was later voted goal of the tournament. Playing alongside Zidane, Figo, Raúl and Morientes, McManaman was a genuine contributor to one of the most celebrated club sides of the modern era.

For England he earned 37 caps, though a turbulent relationship with various national managers limited his international appearances. He remains one of the most successful English players to have thrived in Spanish football.
