Ruud Gullit AC Milan Hoodie | Players Couture
Ruud Gullit won the Ballon d'Or in 1987, the European Cup in 1989 and 1990, and two Serie A titles with AC Milan — all while playing in a style that made categorisation difficult and appreciation easy. The Dutch forward could operate as a second striker, as an attacking midfielder, or as a sweeper when the system demanded, and his combination of physical presence, technique and football intelligence gave Arrigo Sacchi's revolutionary Milan side its most complete individual expression.
Gullit's dreadlocks and his politics — he dedicated his 1987 Ballon d'Or to Nelson Mandela, who was still imprisoned at the time — made him a figure who transcended sport in the way that only a very small number of footballers ever have. His contributions to the Dutch national team's 1988 European Championship victory, including a headed goal in the final against the Soviet Union, completed a year in which he was the most celebrated player in the world. Milan supporters who watched him at his peak saw one of football's great individual performers.
If you're an AC Milan fan or looking for a gift for a Gullit supporter, this Players Couture design captures him in the red and black of the San Siro in the Pantone-card illustration style.
The t-shirt is made from 100% premium cotton with a regular unisex fit, available in White, Navy, Red, Black and Grey in sizes XS to 5XL. Every piece is made to order at our studio in Manchester — nothing is held in stock, so your order is produced fresh just for you.
