Born in Argentina, he began at Argentinos Juniors before moving to Boca Juniors, where his genius quickly made him a national hero. He later played for Barcelona, Napoli, Sevilla, Newell’s Old Boys and returned to Boca Juniors. His time at Napoli turned him into an immortal figure, leading the club to two Serie A titles, the Coppa Italia, UEFA Cup and Supercoppa Italiana, transforming the club’s history forever.

For Argentina, Maradona earned 91 caps and scored 34 goals. He played in four World Cups: 1982, 1986, 1990 and 1994. His peak came at Mexico 1986, where he captained Argentina to World Cup glory and produced two of the most famous goals in football history against England: the “Hand of God” and the breathtaking solo goal often called the Goal of the Century. In 1990, wearing Argentina’s famous away shirt, he again inspired his country to the World Cup final, showing his leadership, creativity and fierce competitive spirit.
